According to a KPMG report entitled “The changing landscape of disruptive technologies” published last month, Cloud computing is considered as the most important disruptor of the three years to come.  While their use increase, cloud technologies remain vitally important to further technology progress and remain a source of enabling innovation.

The 768 technology industry leaders who have participated in the survey come from a very broad panel (large enterprise companies, medium enterprise companies and startups from 14 different countries). For the Japanese, Artificial Intelligence is considered to be the technology that will have the greatest impact in driving business transformation for enterprises for the next years among a total of 13 – cloud taking the 2nd rank. But for the Americans, the Chinese and the industry leaders originating from ASPAC and EMEA regions, it is definitely Cloud computing that consists in the most disruptive technology.

Cloud computing also comprises three categories: “Software as a Service”, “Platform as a Service” and “Infrastructure as a Service”. Cloud benefits include improved business efficiencies, flexibility and productivity, cost reductions and faster innovation cycles.
