\nLychees – their cultivation has dated back all the way to the 11th century. This simple fruit encorporates the long history of humans and has been pictured in Chinese literature from the earliest known record in 1059 A.D. In the18th century it was carried to India and from there reached Reunion Island, where Reuniwatt’s team can savour fresh lychees today. Wherever it arrived, it quickly enjoyed great prestige. In Reunion Island, lychees are said to bring joy and happiness and are traditionally eaten around the New Year.<\/em><\/p>\n
