Expert in Photovoltaic (PV) energy production forecasting, Reuniwatt signed up a partnership with Total. Reuniwatt will thus provide solar power production forecasts for the IssyGrid® demonstration project. Prior to the agreement, the forecasts were provided every 6 hours ahead and for the day to come. Reuniwatt introduces shortcasting.
PV production forecasting: a determining stake for smart grids
One of the main challenges of smart-grids is to optimize the integration of decentralized production from renewable energy sources into the electrical grid. Since its creation in 2010, Reuniwatt has specialized into securing a massive integration of PV into the grid thanks to its patented solar power production forecasting tool, Reuniwatt.
Partnering up with Total was the next logical step for the IssyGrid® project.
A partnership with Total for the installation of Reuniwatt’s innovative imager
Within the IssyGrid® demonstration project, Total is in charge of the local energy production thanks to a communication system and to a production forecasting model. Connected to the smart grid, they can ensure a more efficient management of the produced renewable energy. Reuniwatt’s refined short term forecasts will provide decisive information that will help orient the piloting of IssyGrid®’s equipment. According to Valérick Cassagne, PV Roof and BIPV Development Manager at Total’s New Energies Direction: “Reuniwatt’s innovative imager is a cutting-edge innovation for acquiring cloud conditions as well as short term GHI forecasts in 3D. We are eager to include this shortcasting solution to help better pilot our project.”
