The Moroccan Agency for Sustainable Energy selected Reuniwatt following a tender process for solar forecasting services for PV and CSP plants.

As a central player of the renewable energy development in Morocco, Masen pursues the Morocco’s objective to secure 52% of the country’s energy mix from renewable sources by 2030. In order to meet this ambitious goal, the notable installation of 2000 MW of photovoltaic and concentrated solar power plants is planned by 2020.

For a better integration of the PV and CSP production into the national electricity grid, the variability associated with the solar resource must be properly handled. To that end, Masen has appointed Reuniwatt for the provision of a dedicated weather forecasting service for the anticipation of the generated energy. This service will also enable to further optimise the operation and maintenance of the plants.

“We are delighted that Masen has decided to place its trust in Reuniwatt for this key project, and are committed to contribute to the massive development of solar energy in Morocco and the rest of Africa.” explains Nicolas Schmutz, Reuniwatt’s CEO.
