Reuniwatt will be present at E-world energy and water, Europe’s leading energy trade fair, for the fourth year in a row. From February 6-8 in Essen, Germany, our team will be more than happy to meet you.
Infra-red satellite imagery is key for improved solar forecasts
Energy traders need the best available forecasts to optimise their business.
To offer the best-in-class solution, Reuniwatt has developed unique methodologies. In this case, the company’s experts include infra-red satellite imagery into the process so as to start providing forecasts even before dawn. The infra-red data and with it the sky’s temperature is analysed and hence the cloud cover scheme before sunrise is derived. With the clouds detected, it is possible to forecast their movements and their impact on solar irradiance and power production in the coming hours. So, with this infra-red vision “we can see” in the dark.
Forecasts for Countries and Portfolio
Reuniwatt can supply forecasts of the photovoltaic generation for entire countries (Germany, UK, Italy, France, Spain, Belgium, etc) or for Transmission System Operators’ control areas. Forecasts can be both for the intra-day and day-ahead markets.
You can also choose to obtain tailor-made solar production forecasts for a chosen portfolio of solar plants, from minutes to days ahead.
